The ruler PML-N on Wednesday extended an offer of conversations with lawyers in Sindh that protested for the contentious channel project, while the PPP sought to obtain its support for its April 25 meeting.
The Chief of the Army, the general also Munir, and the Prime Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, inaugurated the ambitious Cholistan project to water the lands of South Punjab on February 15 in the middle of a public uproar and strong reserves in Sindh. The Sindh Assembly also approved a unanimous resolution against the project in March.
The last months have seen the national protests of political parties, including the ally of the ruling coalition and the residents against the proposed project. Legal fraternity has also been organizing a sitting at the bypass Babarloi in the district of Sindh Khairpur since April 18.
The president of PML-N Sindh, Bashir Memon, called the lawyer Sarfaz Metlo, president of the Karachi chapter of the Law Association of the Superior Court of Sindh (SHCBA), in Khairpur today for possible conversations between the federal government and the leadership of Protestant lawyers.

The meeting was held in Khairpur near Bypass Babarloi, the place of protest, according to Memon.
Memon, also the former general director of the Federal Research Agency (FIA), said the meeting was still cordial. He claimed to have met with the president of Karachi Bar Association (KBA), Aamir Nawaz Warraich.
“The president and advisor of PML-N Punjab asked me to involve the leadership of lawyers so that the negotiations can begin with the federal government,” he explained.
A day ago, when PPP legislators organized a Senate strike, Law Minister Azam Nazeer, Tarar, said the government was considering a multiparty consultation to address the issue.
Sanaullah has also discussed the matter with Senior Minister of Sindh, Sharjeel Inam Memon, three times this week to calm the concerns of the provincial government.
The former Interior Minister also contacted the leaders of the United Sindh party, the Qaumi Awami Tehreek and the unandh chapter of Jamiat Ulema-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F).
The SHCBA metlo, which accepted the offer of dialogue, said: “We are ready for Parley with the Government.”
Metlo emphasized that he transmitted to Memon that the lawyers were ready to hold conversations, but their demands were “very specific.”
“The corporate agriculture and channels must be eliminated. That’s,” he said.
Emphasizing that they were “very inflexible in our two demands,” he acknowledged that the lawyers really led agitation, but it was not a protest of every Sindh for the town of the province.
The SHCBA leader said that a 14 -members committee had been formed by lawyers, which would end on Thursday after a meeting of the All Sindh (Aslac) lawyer action committee.
Metlo explained that the presidents and general secretaries of 25 district lawyers associations and four lawyer associations of the Superior Court were part of Aslac. The lawyer Mohammad Ghulam Rehman Korai was Aslac’s call.
According to a letter for the 14 members committee, the body has been commissioned by the dialogue on “six illegal channels in the Indo River; the Corporate Agriculture and Green Initiative of Pakistan; 26 Constitutional amendment and amendments to the Law on the Prevention of Electronic Crimes (PECA)”.
Shafqat Raheem, vice president of the Sindh Bar Association (SBC), will head the committee.
Meanwhile, PPP senior leaders Syed Khurshid Shah and the president of the PPP Sindh chapter Nisar Khuhro, were also scheduled to meet with lawyers in Babarloi Khairpur to invite them to join the public meeting of April 25 of PPP against the channels.
According to the president of the Bar Association of the Hyderabad District (HDBA), Ashar Majeed Khokhar, the 14 members’ lawyers committee would meet with the two PPP leaders.
