Girl rescued, two still missing after falling into Indus River in KP’s Shangla – Pakistan

The locals rescued a girl, while two were still missing after falling in the Indo River in the Shangla district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday, according to the police.

PURAN SUBDIVISCIONAL POLICE ORFORY Circle (SDPO) Usman Munir said Dawn.com: “The young women had gone to the river to look for water for domestic use, but suddenly, due to the rapid flow of the river, the sand and mud collapsed and swept them,” and added that the incident occurred in the Kamach area.

He said that one of the girls was rescued by some residents present on the riverbank in the area.

The SDPO said that a search operation was launched in the area by the 1122 rescue, but the flow of water in the river was too high.

Ibadullah Khan, a local activist, said there was not an advanced 1122 rescue position in the area. “The locals did not have an alternative source of drinking water but to get it out of the river and such accidents were common in the area,” he said.

On Wednesday, at least four people drowned, and a child disappeared after a seven -seater truck fell into a rain drainage in the Attock district of Punjab, according to Rescue 1122.

At the beginning of the month, four children drowned while they bathed in a pond in the Daulat Khel area of the KP Lakki Marwat district, according to Rescue 1122.
