The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation said on Saturday that two American humanitarian workers had suffered non -mortal life injuries in an objective attack on a food distribution site in Gaza.
The GHF backed by the United States and Israel said in a statement that injured Americans were receiving medical treatment and were in a stable condition.
“The attack, which indicates the preliminary information was carried out by two assailants who threw two grenades into the Americans, occurred at the end of a successful distribution in which thousands of Gazanes received food safely,” said the GHF.
In addition to humanitarian workers, GHF uses private military contractors in the United States responsible for providing security at their sites. It was not clear immediately who was behind the attack.
The Israeli army did not have immediate comments when it contacted Reuters.
The Gazan authorities reported separately that dozens of Palestinians had been killed by the Israeli army in the last 24 hours, including nearby aid distribution sites.
The Ministry of Interior led by Hamas in Gaza on Thursday had warned the residents of the coastal enclave that they did not help GHF, saying mortal incidents near their food distribution sites in danger of extinction of the hungry gacios.
The GHF began distributing food packages in Gaza at the end of May, without going through traditional aid channels, including the United Nations, which says that the organization based in the United States is neither impartial nor neutral.
The GHF has said that it has delivered more than 52 million meals to the Palestinians in five weeks, while other humanitarian groups had “looted almost all their help.”
Since Israel raised a 11 -week help block in Gaza on May 19, the UN says that more than 400 Palestinians have been killed while looking for help brochures. A UN senior official said last week that most of the murdered people were trying to reach GHF help sites.
The images released by GHF have shown that at least one help site is invaded without a clear distribution process. The Palestinians have described sites as chaotic.
According to the Gaza Ministry of Health, at least 70 people have been killed in the territory by the Israeli army in the last 24 hours, including 23 distribution sites of nearby aid.
The Ministry did not specify where or how exactly they had been killed.
More than 57,000 Palestinians in Gaza have been killed in the Israel War against Hamas, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health, launched after the surprise attack of the militant group against Israel on October 7, 2023.
Militants led by Hamas killed around 1,200 people in that attack and took another 251 hostages to Gaza. There are still 50 hostages in Gaza, of which 20 are believed to be alive.
