The Canadian figurative skater Laurence Fournier Beaudry is starting a new chapter on the ice along with the 30 -year -old Olympic and ice dance champion Guillaume Cizeron.
After more than a decade of competition, the 32 -year -old woman is not ready to hang her skates. Then, he has associated with Cizeron for another Go on the ice.
The couple trains from the ICE Academy of Montreal, but they hope to compete for the country of origin of Cizeron de France in the next season.
“I introduced Laurence’s idea a few months ago, I think we were both at a crossroads,” Cizeron told CBC Sports. “We were approaching the end, but we had the feeling of perhaps some pending issues … and thought it would be a good opportunity to have a new new chapter together.”
Look | Fournier Beaudry still has a desire to compete, opens the new chapter Cizeron:

Fournier Beaudry, a native of Montreal, competed for Canada at the Beijing 2022 Olympic Games, where he held the ninth place with his former fellow Nikolaj Soerensen.
Skate Canada issued the prohibition of Soerensen in October 2024 after an investigation conducted by the Office of the Sports Integrity Commissioner on an accusation that he sexually assaulted an American artistic skating coach and former skater in Hartford, Connecticut, in 2012.
It has been excluded from sport for a minimum of six years for “sexual abuse.” Soerensen has denied the accusation, which has not been tested in court.
While Fournier Beaudry embarks on a new team association, she says she still has a “spark” and “passion” for sport.
Cizeron says that the two still have more to give despite their respective long and successful races in the ice.
“I think we were both in that place where we could have retired happily,” he said. “But we are still young, and I think the passion of acting and the will to improve … that little fire inside that you need to train every day.”
Each athlete brings more than a decade of experience and knowledge, something they expect to use for its advantage.
“On the ice, outside of the ice, the component of the association, everything that enters the preparation of an Olympic athlete, I think we have a lot of knowledge and experience,” said Cizeron.
“We can combine that experience we have separately and use the strength of others to improve and compete against a team that is strong.”
Fournier Beaudry says that the couple is preparing to start competing together in August 2024.
“We have nothing to lose, we have everything to win,” said Fournier Beaudry. “We are still discovering and still creating and it has been a beautiful surprise.”
