Four alleged members of a prohibited separatist militant group were arrested in Karachi on Tuesday for charges to kill a man in Matli in the Badin district, according to the Department of Contra-Terrorism.
“The Karachi CTD and a federal intelligence agency carried out an IBO [intelligence-based operation] At Dright Road station in Karachi and arrested four suspects, “according to a CTD press release issued Wednesday.
“They were arrested at a time when they came from Punjab to Karachi by train,” added the press release.
During the interrogation, the suspects confessed that they had killed a man identified as Abdul Rehman in Matli on May 18, 2025, where a case was recorded under terrorist positions.
“The weapon used in the murder has also recovered from its custody, which has been sent to the Police Forensic Science Laboratory,” added the press release.
The suspects also admitted that they had stayed in a hotel in Hyderabad for five days in order to carry out an objective murder of their victim.
“Abdul Rehman’s recognition continued until May 13 and when they had a chance on Sunday (May 18), they attacked man outside a barbershop.”
The suspects were sought in different cases in Punjab.
According to the statement, the investigation of the murder case was delivered to CTD Karachi on the application of the plaintiff.
“The CTD evaluated the case, obtained evidence of the crime scene in Matli and with the help of technical evidence and intelligence, tracked the suspects and arrested them,” the statement added.
The Sindh police chief has announced a certificate of cash and thanks for the CTD team for arresting the suspects, according to the department spokesman.
On Monday, three terrorists, including the intellectual author behind the November 2024 attack against Chinese engineers, were killed during an anti -terrorism operation in the Karachi Manghopir area, CTD officials said.
In June, the Sindh government made a considerable allocation of RS179.7 billion for the law and order, including security, the application of the law and the Sindh prisons for the financial year 2025-26.
In April, the CTD and an intelligence agency arrested an alleged militant who belonged to the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) outlaw (TTP) in a raid in the Lee de Karachi market.
