Quetta: On Tuesday the bodies of four kidnapped trucks of Punjab in the galangor area of the Noshki district were found, approximately 100 km west of Quetta, authorities said.
The drivers transported GLP imported from Iran on May 9 when armed men intercepted their trucks in the Ahmedwal area on the Quetta-Taphan road. The assailants exploded the tires of the trucks and kidnapped the four men at gunpoint before the security forces reached the scene, according to the authorities.
Local residents informed the administration of the agencies, which caused the encumbrances and other agencies to apply the law. The bodies were taken to the district hospital in Noshki.
Hospital officials confirmed that the four men died because of multiple bullet wounds after receiving a shot from a nearby range.
The deceased were identified as Moin and Huzaifa, residents of Pakpattan, and the Imran Ali brothers and Irfan Ali, residents of Rahimyar Khan.
Their bodies were sent to the respective cities of origin after legal formalities were completed.
An investigation has been launched, authorities said. No group has assumed the responsibility of the murders.
Baluchistan government spokesman Shahid Rind, strongly condemned murders. “Those behind such atrocious acts, enemies of peace, will not be saved,” said Rind in a statement, describing the incident as “barbarian and deeply tragic.”
“The provincial government is using all the resources available to ensure that perpetrators are taken before justice.”
Mr. Rind extended condolences to the families of the victims and assured them that justice would be served. He pointed out that the victims were Punjab and said the incident “seemed to be an attempt of terrorist elements to interrupt interprovincial harmony.”
“The Baluchistan government undertakes to carry out a transparent and exhaustive investigation. Those responsible will soon be arrested and treated with an iron hand,” said Rind. He reiterated the government’s determination to defend the law and order, stating that “such cowardly acts would not shake the resolution of the State.”
