The former LSU receptor, Kyren Lacy, who faced criminal charges derived from a fatal car accident in December, died at age 24, a University Athletics spokesman said on Sunday.
While the LSU Athletics Department confirmed Lcy’s death, he did not confirm the cause. WAFB-TV in Baton Rouge, citing a member of the nameless family, reported that Lacy, which is from Thibodaux, Louisiana, died in the Houston area.
The Houston Police sent the media consultations to the Harris County Forensic Doctor’s office, which did not immediately respond to an email by Associated Press on Sunday.
Lacy, who led LSU in TouchDowns receiving with nine last season, had declared for the NFL draft this month. But his Draft stock collapsed after his alleged participation in an accident in which he killed a 78 -year -old man in the parish of Lafourche, Louisiana.
Lacy was supposedly driving recklessly, accelerating and passing in an area of not passing, when a motorist who was turning to avoid Dodge Charger of Lacy crashed from the front against another vehicle.
Herman Hall of Thibodaux, Louisiana, who was involved in a frontal accident, died after being transported to a hospital, said a state police report.
The authorities of the State Police T troop in Gray, Louisiana, said Lacy fled the accident scene without asking for help. Lacy was reserved with negligent homicide, serious crime run over and reckless operation of a vehicle.
Lacy played in 12 games for LSU last season and was second in the team in captures with 58 and yards receiving with 866.
He declared for the NFL draft a few days after the accident and did not play in LSU’s victory over Baylor at Texas Bowl on December 31.
