Bangalore: A session court in Bengaluru on Thursday rejected the bail statement of the actor of Kannada Ranya Rao in the case of gold smuggling. This was the third time he did not receive judicial relief.
According to prosecution, Ranya admitted to having used Falcon channels To facilitate gold purchases. In response, the authorities have issued a notice to initiate a judicial investigation, which they believe will discover more financial irregularities. The case also involves Tarun Raj, an assistant to the actor, who has been appointed as the second defendant.
The authorities claim that Ranya delivered the gold of smuggling to a merchant named Sahil Jain, who was arrested by DRI on Wednesday. This carries the total number of arrests in the case to three.
Dri’s lawyer, Madhu Rao, revealed that Ranya and Raj made around 26 trips to Dubai together, often left in the morning and returned the same night. Before his arrest, the actor allegedly reserved a plane ticket for Raj, who then handed him the gold in Dubai. The Gold Bars worth RS 12.56 million rupees were seized from Ranya, stepdaughter of the DGP K Ramachandra Rao Range officer at the Bangalore airport on March 3.
