The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ishaq Dar, celebrated on Monday his second telephone call with the United States Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, since Washington visited and an improvement in bilateral ties.
There has been an increase in relations between the United States and Pakistan, with both nations entering a commercial agreement last week in which Washington lowered the tariffs on Islamabad to 19 percent, while taking advantage of the oil reserves of the latter. The positive signals, which began to emanate shortly after the inauguration of President Donald Trump, seem to become a full -fledged bonhomie.
Since recognizing the anti-terrorism cooperation of Pakistan in the arrest of an agent of the Islamic-Khorasano State to claim credit to stop a nuclear war in southern Asia, the country may have appeared more in the daily media interactions of the president of the United States than any “previous commander”.
In an X Today publication, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (FO) declared that the two main diplomats had their most recent interaction by phone.
“The two leaders discussed a variety of bilateral issues and exchanged views on current regional and international problems,” said Fo. “Both parties agreed to remain in contact and continue cooperation in areas of mutual interest.”
FM Dar had met the United States Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, last month and discussed trade, investment, anti -terrorism cooperation and the clash between India and Pakistan in May, according to officials from both countries.
The meeting, the first commitment between the foreign ministers of the two countries in three years, was considered an advance in diplomacy between Pakistan and the United States. The Rubio Secretary had recognized the “incomparable sacrifices” of Pakistan in the fight against terrorism and described Islamabad as a “constructive actor” in efforts to guarantee regional stability.
Subsequently, the two had spoken again on July 28 after their “productive meeting” and discussed key bilateral issues, including tariffs, as well as regional and global problems of mutual interest.
