Fight mars end of Cowboys-Eagles game

The fight during Philadelphia’s Week 17 win over Dallas was largely one-sided.

Until the last three minutes.

Late in the fourth quarter, the Eagles, leading 41-7, kicked a routine punt to start a play that quickly led to the ejections of Philadelphia’s Sydney Brown and Dallas’ Troy Pride and Jalen Brooks.

After Brown and Brooks tangled for the first time in the end zone, Pride intervened and shoved Brown, who reacted by pushing him into a tunnel away from the field.

More players from both teams joined the skirmish in the tunnel, attempting to separate the players initially involved.

Until then, the game had focused on other dramas. Eagles backup quarterback Kenny Pickett, starting in place of the injured Jalen Hurts, was injured and left the game after taking a hit from Cowboys (7-9) running back Micah Parsons in the third quarter.

A quarter later, Philadelphia running back Saquon Barkley became the ninth player in NFL history to rush for 2,000 yards in a single season.

The Eagles (13-3) finally won on Sunday, clinching the NFC East title.
