The Federal Research Agency (FIA) on Monday arrested a suspect from Bani Gala on the outskirts of Islamabad for its “anti-state campaign” on social networks for the recent attack on the Jaffar Express train in Baluchistan.
The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon when the train, which was traveling from Quetta to Peshawar and transported 440 passengers, was ambushed by the terrorists of the Baluchistan Liberation Army (Bla). They opened fire on the train and kept passengers as hostages, which led the security forces to start an operation that lasted two days.
On Wednesday night, the general director of Public Relations between Services (ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, confirmed that the operation had been completed, with 33 terrorists present at the site of the neutralized attack. The ISPR chief also confirmed that 21 passengers and four members of the border body staff lost their lives in kidnapping, but the hostages were not damaged during the final rescue phase.
According to a statement from a FIA spokesman, the suspect was arrested during a raid at the Bani gala for “spreading the hate campaign against state institutions.”
The suspect, identified as Haider Saeed, had “shared negative propaganda and derogatory content against institutions during the tragedy of Jaffar Express,” the statement added.
The statement also cited its participation in “supporting and promoting terrorist organizations prohibited in social networks” and said that the suspect “not only directed a poisonous campaign against state institutions, but also continued to share inflammatory statements and content in favor of terrorists.”
An investigation began taking the accounts of the social networks and the digital evidence of the suspect, the statement added, warning that strict measures would be taken against him.
The FIA cybercrime wing presented a first information report (FIR) on March 16, a copy of which is available with Dawn.com. The FIR explained that the suspect supposedly propagated false and misleading information on social networks.

In addition, he said: “In addition, the user … propagated a highly intimidating tweet glorifying the forbidden outfit, that is, the Baluchistan Liberation Army … with a criminal intention to approach, intimidate, sense of fear and panic/insecurity in the government and the public.
“Such intimidating content … to glorify the forbidden outfit Bla and its terrorist activities, clearly advances the insurgency in the state and a mischievous act of subversion to damage the state of Pakistan.”
Ade hits PTI for the ‘poisonous’ campaign
Punjab Minister of Information, Azma Bokhari, criticized the PTI on Monday for a “poison” campaign against state and security forces.
Speaking about the Jaffar Express incident, she said: “In these times, it must keep political divisions aside and stand with their country and institutions. [But] There is a party that always directs a poisonous anti-state campaign, especially against security forces and our enemies take advantage of that. “
She highlighted the participation of the Indian media during the incident. “His media were prepared and had images of AI to execute during the incident to give the impression that Pakistan is a failed state.”

“There were tweets of the official mango x party in support of the terrorists,” he added.
Azma also criticized KP’s prime minister, Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, for ignoring KP security concerns. “KP is on the first line of terrorism, but CM Gandapur held a press conference on Afghan policy that says they should not be expelled,” he added.
He highlighted Afghanistan’s participation in recent terrorist attacks such as the Jaffar Express incident and Bannu’s attack, stating: “Gandapur is more concerned about the Afghan people than KP’s.”
