Multiple users on Tuesday shared a video, claiming that showed that the schoolgirls became ill after being vaccinated. However, the clip is of bombing Degas Tears in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and is not linked to the current Human Papilloma Vaccination campaign (HPV) against cervical cancer.
A day ago, Abdullah Gul, son of former intelligence chief Hamid Gul, shared a video about X that showed girls in school uniforms in a hospital room that appeared ill with the following title:
“After forced vaccination in schools, several girls fell ill and had to be transferred to the hospital. For the love of God! Take a clear and firm posture in the matter of their children. All the experiments of the world are always carried out in us poor.
The publication obtained more than 290,000 visits, 2,700 reactions and 1,800 shares.
The publication did not provide other crucial information, such as the location and the video date or specified which vaccine was administered.
The same video was shared with a similar claim of an X user, which seems to be a PTI supporter based on his previous publications and his profile photo.
The user referred to a HPV vaccination campaign in the title:
“Great revelation. In Pakistan, the HPV vaccine is administered to the boys. Protect their children from this vaccine. Look at the condition of the girls. Share this video with each home.”
The publication obtained more than 30,000 views
Multiple users shared the same video with similar statements in X as you can see here and here and on Instagram too.
A verification of facts began to verify the claim due to its virality, a great public interest in matters related to vaccines and to address the damage of said content.
An inverse image search produced a YouTube video dated May 9, 2024, with the following title: “The police fired tear gas in girls’ schools in Dadyal.”
Dadyal is a Tehsil in the Ajk Mirpur district.
A keyword search for “Tears”, “Dadyal” and “School Girls” produced a position of May 9, 2024, x by journalist Basharat Raja, which had shared the same video with the following title:
“This is also a Dadyal clip where tear gas was used excessively by the police and unidentified people dressed in civil clothing in schools, which caused students to participate in annual exams are passed out.”
A keyword search to corroborate the incident through the credible media produced a news report of May 10, 2024 of the leading publication in English in English Sunrise Entitled “Repression police in the call of the AJK closing strike”.
The report declared that the police triggered tear gas shells during clashes, and some landed in a school, affecting several girls. The demonstrations were part of a broader movement against high electricity and tax invoices in AJK.
A keyword search to determine if any vaccination campaign was underway in Pakistan threw an article from the World Health Organization (WHO) of September 16, 2025, entitled: “Pakistan joins 150 countries to protect 13 million girls from cervical cancer with a vaccine prior to WHO.”
The report declared that WHO, in collaboration with the Federal Directorate of Immunization (FDI), launched the first HPV vaccination campaign in the country to protect 13 million adolescent girls from cervical cancer, in association with Vaccine Alliance Gavi and UNICEF. He added that Pakistan now joined more than 150 countries that include the vaccine prior to WHO in its immunization schedules.
According to the starting page of the campaign on the FDI website: “The HPV vaccine is safe, free and effective and girls from 9 to 14 years will be vaccinated from September 15 to 27, 2025, in schools, stepmother and health facilities in Punjab, Sindh, AJK and Islamabad.”
In his announcement of the campaign, Gavi pointed out that the vaccine has “mild side effects”, such as the pain in the injected part of the body or a low fever that could occur, and adds, however, that this was “similar to other vaccines.”
Therefore, the verification of facts determined that the statement that a viral video shows the paintings of pain after being inoculated in the current HPV vaccination campaign is FAKE. The video shows schoolgirls affected by the bombardment of tear gas in AJK in May 2024, not the HPV vaccine, which is safe and only has mild side effects.
