On Sunday, General Munir and the Minister of the Interior, Mohsin Naqvi, met separately with a delegation of American congressmen to emphasize Pakistan’s commitment to regional security, defense cooperation and anti -terrorism.
The delegation included congressmen Jack Bergman, Tom Suozzi and Jonathan Jackson, along with the American ambassador Natalie Baker. The agenda of the meeting included discussions on an upcoming visit of high -level Pakistani delegation to the United States aimed at promoting commercial relations and addressing a recent 29 percent rate imposed on Pakistani exports.
On Monday, a user in X, who seems to be a PTI supporter based on his previous publications, shared a clip of the army chief that interacted and spoke with a member of the United States Congress delegation in English.
The 30 -second clip showed short moments of the meeting between the head of the American army and delegation.
The title of the publication said: “Munir will also face the same destination, remember? When Mohsin Naqvi met Joe Wilson … Since then, Joe Wilson has been venting his anger.”
Supposedly, the head of the Army could be heard in the clip: “It gives me immense pleasure that after the pandemic, that I am the first army chief of any of China’s friendly countries, who is visiting China now after the pandemic.”
The post obtained 31,800 views.
The same video was shared by other users in X, which also seems to be supporters of PTI, in the same way mocking the style of speaking of the Army Chief that can be seen here and here, obtaining 33,900 and 20,500 views respectively.
A verification of facts began to determine the veracity of the claim due to its high virality and a great interest in the details of the meeting between the Army Chief and the Delegation of the United States Congress.

A reverse image search led to an Instagram post of the official public relations account between services (ISPR), which shows the same video but without audio.
The ISPR said that discussions between the two parties had focused on regional security and defense cooperation, and both emphasize long -term commitment based on shared values and strategic interests. However, he did not say what his exact conversations were in the parts of the discussion included in the video.
A keyword search using the clip statement led to an X publication on an account that provides updates on the army since 2023.
The post shared a clip of the Army Chief who spoke at a meeting with Wang Yi, director of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), on April 27, 2023.
In the clip, Coas Munir said: “It gives me immense pleasure that after the pandemic, I am the first army chief of any of China’s friendly countries, who is visiting China now after the pandemic.”
The same clip of the Army Chief was shared by Indian media as Hindustan Times and Times nowHe informed that the clip caused mixed and criticism reactions about the style of speaking of the military official.
The audio of the Chinese meeting head was taken and imposed by the silent video of the ISPR of the meeting with US legislators.
Therefore, the verification of facts determined that the statement that a video shows the Army Chief speaking to US legislators is misleading. While the video itself was not modified, it was called with a meeting between Munir Coas and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of China in April 2023, while the original video published by the ISPR did not contain audio.
