User publications on multiple social media platforms on Wednesday shared a video, claiming that showed people in Qatar protesting an air base in the United States. However, the video is May, when people in Libya protested against their government.
Today, the Iran National Security Council confirmed that it carried out a retaliation missile strike in the US military base in the Udeid in Qatar. The attack occurred in response to US air attacks in Iran’s nuclear facilities. In his official statement, Iran emphasized that the number of missiles launched coincided with the number of bombs used by the US. UU., Frameing it as a proportional response. The Council also clarified that the strike does not represent any threat to Qatar, describing the Gulf Nation as a “friendly and fraternal country.”
A video was shared today in X on a pro-military account, based on its biography, past publications and a profile photo, which shows people protesting.
The post title said: “For the first time in history, the Qatari people are protesting, and that also against the American base built in 12 square kilometers of land in a small country like Qatar.”
The publication was seen by more than 122,000 people.
The same statement was also shared by a Pro-PTI account, where he received more than 52,000 visits.
Several other X users shared the same video with similar subtitles that can be seen here, here and here.
The video also extended on other social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram and Tiktok.
A verification of facts began to determine the veracity of the claim due to its virality and public interest in the Iran-Israel conflict and the subsequent participation of the United States and Qatar in it.
A reverse image search led to a Tiktok video uploaded on May 15. In the video, the person was heard in a foreign language.

Process the video through the transcription tool AI Turboscal, which generated an English transcription, showed that the person mentioned the capital Libya Tripoli and was asking for the resignation of some officers.
The same video was also shared by Libya’s media Libya Alhadath On Facebook on May 15 with the following title: “Look | The protesters in front of the prime minister’s office at Al-Sikka Road are asking Dbeibah to resign.”
A keyword search for “Libya”, “protest”, “resignation” and “al-sikka road” led to a news report from Libya Publication Libya’s observer On May 17, entitled: “Protests against the Dbeibah government amid resignations of some ministers.”
According to the report, the protests took place in Tripoli on May 16 in the Plaza de Mártires and outside the office of the Prime Minister in Al-Sikka Road, with protesters who demanded the resignation of the Government of National Unity and Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah. The protests were caused by the recent security tensions in the capital that resulted in casualties and material damage. In response, several ministers resigned in solidarity with the protesters.
A keyword search for news reports on protests in Qatar against any US Air Base. UU. To corroborate the alleged development, neither did news reports or videos of said incident.
