Karachi: When the Indian Parliament began an animated discussion on Monday about the recent military confrontation with Pakistan, a former Interior Minister has challenged New Delhi’s narrative about Pahalgam’s incident, questioning the statement that the attackers came from Pakistan.
The comments of the veteran leader of the Indian National Congress P Chidambaram arrived during an interview with The Quintwhere he questioned the management of the authorities of the attack of April 22 and pointed out a lack of evidence to support the statement of New Delhi with respect to the role of Pakistan.
“Where are the terrorist attackers? Why have you not stopped them, or have they even identified them? Had news about the arrest of some people who gave the attackers shelters. What happened to them?” Times of India He cited him as saying.
He also questioned the role of investigating agencies. “They are not willing to reveal what [National Investigation Agency] He has done all these weeks. Have you identified terrorists or where do they come from? From what we know, they could be local terrorists. Why do you assume Pakistan? There is no evidence of that “, The statesman He quoted Mr. Chidambaram saying during the interview.
According Times of IndiaHe also pointed out what he called the lack of clear official information.
“We receive fragments and fragments of information from different officers. The Chief of Staff of Defense (CDS) goes to Singapore and makes a statement that gives it fragments of information. The attached chief of the Army makes a statement in Mumbai. In Indonesia, a Junior Officer of the Navy makes a statement. But why does the Minister of Defense or the Minister of Foreign Affairs do not make a complete statement? said.
When asked what he thought the government was trying to hide, Mr. Chidambaram replied: “I think, and this is speculation, I think they are hiding the fact that we made tactical mistakes (during the Sindoor operation), and we return to the strategy … the CDS hinted at that. What tactical mistakes were made? What was the rehability?
Chidambaram also added: “They are also hiding the losses. I said it in a column that in a war, the losses will occur on both sides. I understand that India would have suffered losses. Be in advance.”
The comments caused criticism of the ruler Bharatiya Janata (BJP) party, who accused the Congress leader of defending Pakistan.
The Minister of the Union, Pralhad Joshi, accused Mr. Chidambaram of giving a “clean fusion to Pakistan”, while BJP spokesman, Amit Malviya, claimed that Congress “always leans back to protect the enemy.”
‘There is no pressure to end the fight’
In Parliament, the members of the Treasury banks accused the Congress party of speaking the language of Pakistan and made an exception to the comments of Mr. Chidambaram.
India’s Minister of Defense, Rajnath Singh, began the discussion by jumping from any monitoring of Pahalgam’s terrorist attack on April 22, and avoided answering a question about India losing combat planes against Pakistan in saying that the opposition was asking the wrong question.
“If a child gets good grades in the exam, the question of whether a pencil had broken or lost one was not correct.”
“We should not focus on whether the pencil (an examination) broke or the pen was lost during the exam. Ultimately, the result is important, and the result is that our forces completely achieved the objectives of the Sindoor operation.”
However, Mr. Singh continued to make his statements: “The opposition sometimes asks about the demolished aircraft. His question does not represent the feelings of India. They have not yet asked how many Pakistani airplanes they were shot down.
He also reiterated the Indian statement that the Sindoor operation stopped because India had fulfilled its political and military objectives. “To say that it was done under any pressure is totally unfounded and incorrect,” he said, adding: “The goal was not to go to war but force the adversary to bend.”
The Minister of External Affairs, S. Jaishankar also said that President Donald Trump had not played any role in achieving the fire. He said that American vice president JD Vance had spoken with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and told him that Pakistan was preparing to launch an important attack, added that Prime Minister Modi told him that the attack would be responded properly.
‘Operation Mahadev’
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s state broadcaster warned that India has once again begun “false encounters” under the appearance of counteracting terrorism, with an alleged plan to “use” Pakistani detained in them.
The statement occurred after the Chinese body of the Indian army said they killed three alleged terrorists as part of the so -called ‘MAHADE Operation in Srinagar de Cashmira Occupied, Pakistan radio reported.
While the Indian media, citing Fuentes, have been linking one of the dead with Pahalgam’s attack, there has not been an official word in this regard.
