Ex-federal minister Abbas Afridi succumbs to burn injuries sustained in gas leak explosion – Pakistan

Former Federal Minister and Senator Abbas Afridi succumbed on Friday to burn injuries suffered in an explosion of gas leak a day before, while three others were injured.

He said that the other three had been transported to a hospital in the division headquarters.

The police spokesman said that Aphridi and his friends, Dilnawaz, Javed Afridi and Nadeem, were in the hujra when a gas leak caused an explosion. The intensity of the explosion damaged the walls of the hujra.

The Aphridi funeral will take place today at 5pm in Babri Banda, Kohat.

The governor of KP, Faisal Karim Kundi, expressed a deep sadness and pain for the death of Aphridi.

He expressed his sincere sympathy to the senator of the father of the late Shamim Afridi, the brother of the deceased, who is the provincial information secretary of the Popular Party, Amjad Afridi and other relatives, saying: “We all share the same pain with them in this hour of pain.”

Kundi ordered the superior authorities to investigate the nature of the explosion after receiving information about the explosion, and that a transparent investigation is carried out.

The president of the Senate, Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, and Vice President Zahid Khan also expressed pain for Aphridi’s disappearance, calling him a “sociable and sincere person.”
