Following the growing insurgency in Baluchistan, the Government emphasized Friday that the dialogue option, through which terrorism can be addressed in the province, has always been offered, even allowing opposition members to participate in the process.
Baluchistan faces a series of attacks aimed at the police and security forces, and in some cases, civilians come from Punjab.
The Baluchistan government press conference was held today in Quetta by Shahid Rind spokesman and the provincial ministers Mir Shoaib Nosherwani and Zahoor Ahmed Bulldi.
Nosherwani acknowledged the recent “wave of terrorism” in Baluchistan, saying: “These are unconventional incidents, so they should be treated unconventionally through a new strategy.
“The intelligence contribution, the consensus of people and public support is important,” added Nosherwani.
Nosherwani admitted that Baluchistan concerns are frequently mentioned in several forums, particularly about “bad governors” and corruption, which feeds terrorism.
“We understand that this is a big problem, but it is not something new; this has been ongoing for decades,” he said, adding that the government is determined to improve the situation, move towards “good” governance and end corruption.
He said that in the previous budget, the government has made efforts to provide relief directly to the people of Baluchistan, but as soon as the respite begins, terrorist attacks increase again.
“No government wants to solve problems through violence, war or operations; any government would like to solve things without any damage.
“Baluchistan’s Prime Minister on the first day has always extended his invitation to dialogue. Those who have a mandate, those who talk about Baluchistan’s complaints, all doors are open to them. Please see and have a dialogue,” he said.
Baluchistan’s government spokesman, Rind, continued this point while talking at the press conference, saying that government policies are clear about terrorist activities.
“The main minister has made the offer of dialogue several times on the floor of the Assembly, which even if an opposition member has a dialogue initiative, is willing to give that after which the negotiations will begin.”
He pointed out that in the previous year three sessions were held at the Baluchistan assembly to address terrorism, one of the sessions in the camera, and “all were taken on board for the first time.”
“We need to differentiate between who is a terrorist and who is not, and the current government is clear on this matter,” said Rind. “On the issues of anti -terrorism and insurgency, the government has complete clarity.”
In addition, he said: “The elected representatives and even those who are not elected have always been invited to dialogue.
“Even at the National Security Committee meeting and before that, [Prime Minister] Shehbaz Sharif extended the offer of dialogue to all political leadership. The prime minister extended the invitation to all in the Provincial Assembly.
“Now, if a political party boycott the meeting, we have no other option to bring them for dialogue,” he added.
Rind alluded to PTI omitting a meeting last week of the Parliamentary Committee of National Security (PCNS) after his requested meeting with the founder of the prison party, Imran Khan, did not materialize.
Rind continued: “The Government is clear that if a person is killed by his identity, being Punjabi or some other nationality, or even the security forces personnel, that is the murder of a citizen and the government will take all the measures to address it.”
Before Rind and Nosherwani speaking at the press conference, Buledi said the government will use all its resources to restore peace in Baluchistan.
“Dr. Mehrullah Tareen, the only professional oncologist in the province, was killed yesterday.
Terrorists have no ethnicity or religion; They just want to spread the anarchy in Pakistan, stop progress in Baluchistan and make CPEC [China-Pakistan Economic Corridor] failed.”
Friday’s press conference occurred when 17 people in Baluchistan died and 21 were injured in a 24 -hour period.
The safety situation in Baluchistan has deteriorated in recent months, with militants that frequently attack police and armed forces.
The forbidden Baluchistan Liberation Army (BL), in particular, has adopted new tactics to cause higher casualties and directly go to security forces.
