A fire broke out near an oil refinery in Korangi of Karachi and the efforts to extinguish them were underway, a rescue 1122 said on Saturday.
According to the statement, a fire broke out in a gas pipe near the refinery.
“More than 20 Fire Brigade Trucks of the 1122, KMC and PRL Firefighters participate in the fire extinction process,” he added.
The Sindh Rehabilitation Minister Makhdoom Mehboub Zaman instructed the Director General of Rescue 1122 (DG) Abid Jaluddin Sheikh who remains in constant contact with his staff.
Zaman said that rescue staff 1122 and Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) was working continuously to control the fire.
A statement issued by the Edhi Foundation said an ambulance and volunteers were present at the site.
No victims were reported in the incident.
Fire incidents are common in the metropolis due to the absence of adequate fire safety measures in buildings.
Earlier this month, a fire broke out in Kawish Plaza in Sharea Faisal Road, which caused an operation to rescue people inside the building.
Fire explodes in northern Karachi
Separately, a fire broke out in a gas pipe near the Al-Hamid school in northern Karachi, according to a rescue spokesman 1122.
“As soon as the central command and the rescue 1122 control received the information, the Fire and Rescue team, along with an ambulance and a truck from the Fire Brigade reached the scene,” said the spokesman.
They added that the 1122 rescue is in the fire control process.
The Edhi Foundation also confirmed that its ambulances and volunteers are dedicated to help activities in the fire scene.
