People living in the northern end of Regina woke up early this morning due to an explosion at the main floor of the Cooperative Refinery of Regina’s consumers who shook houses two kilometers away.
The explosion occurred around 4:45 AM CST on Tuesday near the door n. ° 3 in 9th Avenue North near McDonald Street.
Emergency alarm horns were activated and they could be heard at the north end of the city for more than 15 minutes.
It is not yet known what the explosion caused, but a fire still burned at 6 am cst.
The northern end of Regina woke up with emergency sirens after an explosion in the cooperative refinery.
According to a refinery spokesman, two employees were evaluated by minor injuries and all personnel are counted.
“The incident has been contained and the impacted area has stabilized,” said the refinery spokesman Andrew Swenson, in a statement sent by email.

The Regina Fire Department says that after the initial explosion equipment was burning an additional product in the lines, but there were no high pressure lines in the fire.
