We’ve all been there at some point, struggling with the spelling of EAGLES during an impromptu Eagles sing-along. It just wasn’t caught on video.
During a winter weather preparation press conference in the hours before the Philadelphia Eagles’ snowy playoff victory over the Los Angeles Rams, Mayor Cherelle Parker had her moment of ruining the chant.

“Listen, we have to do this,” the first-term Democrat said while outside with city officials after deeming it “essential” to travel to the Jan. 19, 2025, Eagles game.
“Let me hear you all sing,” says Parker, dressed in a Kelly green beanie and scarf, before leading the crowd in a chant of “ELGSES, Eagles!” Some people in the crowd can be heard chanting the proper spelling.
“Come on birds!” he says before walking away from the podium.
The error was apparently not caught in real time on Sunday, but began circulating on social media hours after the Eagles advanced to the NFC Championship Game.
“We don’t promise perfection, I’m very happy I never did, especially after I couldn’t spell Eagles correctly,” Parker said with a smile at an unrelated event in Kensington on Tuesday, January 21, 2025. The comment got laughs of those who were in the room.
We’ll have to wait and see if Parker will get a chance to redeem the Eagles’ song before Sunday’s showdown with division rival Washington.
