The drummer of the Texas Rock Band Lord Buffalo was withdrawn from a flight directed to Europe and arrested by the immigration authorities on Monday, the band said in social media publications on Wednesday.
Yamal said he was “removed by the force of our flight to Europe for customs and border patrol” at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport on Monday, Lord Buffalo, the Austin band, Texas, in publications on social networks.
He is a Mexican citizen and, as head of the green card, he is a permanent legal resident of the United States, according to the band.
“It has not been released, and we have not been able to contact it,” the band wrote. “We are currently working with an immigration lawyer for more information and try to ensure their release.”
Said’s arrest led the band to cancel its next European tour. “We are disconsolate,” the band wrote.
“We are devastated to cancel this tour, but we are focusing all our energy and resources on Yamal’s safety and freedom,” said the post. “We hope that this will be a temporary setback and that it can be safe for us to reprogram this tour in the future.”
The band said in an update of its publication on Wednesday afternoon that he said he had assured a legal representation and “we are waiting to listen to what is coming later.”
“We want to reiterate that we really don’t know what is happening,” the band wrote. “We have more questions than answers, but we will keep it informed as much as we can.”
The Department of National Security, Customs and the Border Patrol did not immediately respond to a request for comments on the accusations.
Lord Buffalo also did not respond immediately to a request for comments on social networks publications.
