Driver charged for stunt driving on way to road test in Caledon Ont.

A 17-year-old driver failed his driving test before it started after being stopped by police in a community safety zone.

Caledon police say the driver of the G2 was practicing with his driving instructor when they were allegedly caught traveling 94 kilometers per hour in a 50 kilometer per hour zone.

Authorities say the driver was headed to his road test appointment at the time of the traffic stop.

Police say the teen was charged with stunt driving, received an immediate suspension of his license, and had his vehicle towed, all with the driving instructor present.

The Ontario government reminds drivers that speeding and aggressive driving put lives at risk, and urges drivers to slow down and follow the rules of the road.
