Disgraced sex offender Jeffrey Epstein’s emails show he called Imran Khan major ‘threat to peace’

Disgraced sex offender Jeffrey Epstein called former Prime Minister Imran Khan a major “threat to peace” in 2018, days after his PTI won Pakistan’s general election.

Epstein mentioned the now-jailed PTI founder in his email conversations with an unidentified individual on July 31, 2018, according to the latest batch of emails released by US Democrats in the House Oversight Committee on Wednesday.

In 2019, the US Department of Justice charged Epstein in Manhattan with sex trafficking of minors. Epstein pleaded not guilty, but committed suicide the same year before trial at age 66.

In an email exchange that spanned several topics, Epstein wrote at 4:04 a.m. that Russian President Vladimir Putin had been “nice so far” and joked, “how the United States gets involved in other people’s elections.”

Minutes later, Epstein mentioned both Imran and Putin in the same message: “[Putin] has not pointed out murders to overthrow [governments] …coup financing…Imran [Khan] In Pakistan, a much greater threat to peace than [Turkish President Recep Tayyip] Erdogan, Khomeini, [China’s President] Xi or Putin.”

The other individual asked, “The populist in Pakistan???,” to which Epstein only responded “very bad news,” apparently referring to Imran.

“The cricketer? How could he be worse than [sic] The Islamist? the person who was talking to the sex offender asked.

“Makes Donald look like Einstein. Incapable of telling the truth. Devout Islamist.” [sic]“Epstein responded, apparently referring to Imran.

“A lot of nuclear weapons. (Neither Erdogan nor Khomeni). He was married to two friends of mine, one of Jimmy Goldsmith’s daughters. A super rich guy who took over. He forced her to convert. Wacko,” said the pedophile financier.

“This follows your prediction about personality cults. He’s a cricket captain. Not a chess player, but he’s good at stirring up a crowd,” Epstein added.

The conversation, according to the released emails, remained silent for 40 minutes before resuming with another topic.

Oxford-educated Imran is described as one of the world’s best all-rounders in cricket before entering politics. He had a series of high-society girlfriends, frequented exclusive nightclubs in London and earned a playboy reputation, which he began to soften shortly after 1992.

As reports of Imran’s mention in Epstein’s emails circulated on social media, users also shared a photo of Imran and British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell from a 1990s party, posted by the stock photography website. Shutterstock.

Maxwell, currently serving a 20-year prison sentence, was found guilty in 2021 by a New York jury of helping Epstein sexually abuse teenage girls.

Epstein’s network of powerful contacts

Epstein’s latest batch of emails illustrates the extraordinary scope of his contacts with powerful people, from a top adviser to US President Donald Trump to Britain’s former Prince Andrew.

Epstein’s emails also suggested that Trump was aware of the financier’s sexual abuse and definitely “knew about the girls.” The US president has denied any involvement in or knowledge of his former friend’s sex trafficking activities.

The US House of Representatives is expected to vote next week to try to force the disclosure of evidence collected on Epstein by law enforcement over the years, including the identities of men suspected of participating in his alleged sex trafficking ring.

Trump has angrily called the push for greater transparency a “hoax,” while demanding an investigation into Epstein’s ties to others, including former US president Bill Clinton.

Documents already released by Democrats in Congress include email exchanges between 2009 and 2019, when Epstein died in custody while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.
