‘Dictatorship or emergency?’: SP chief Akhilesh Yadav accuses UP Police of stopping his convoy on Eid | India News

Nueva Delhi: Samajwadi’s head, Akhilesh Yadav, accused on Monday to Police to stop his convoy in Lucknow on the occasion of EID and questioned the need for “such barricade.” He said the police did not provide any reason for their actions and criticized the Yogi government qualifying it as an act of “dictatorship and emergency.”
“Why there is so much baricading on the occasion of EID. The police stopped me, and when I asked them why they stopped me, then they had no response,” he said.
“If I call it dictatorship or should call it ’emergency’. I have never seen such a barricade that has been made to prevent people from celebrating their festivals … BJP is not directing this country through the Constitution,” he added.

Security arrangements have expanded for EID and RAM Navami. The sensitive areas, including Sambhal, have been deployed with adequate police force, roof and regular patrol surveillance in the markets and places full of people.
Anti -Roma measures, including the controls of the pump elimination squad, drone surveillance and CCTV monitoring are also being ensured in key locations, according to an official statement.
The statement also said that during the EID al-Fitr Namaz, animals should not be allowed by roads near Eidgahs and Mosques.
