NEW DELHI: The Congress released its fourth list of candidates for the Delhi assembly elections on Wednesday night, announcing names for five constituencies.
Surender Kumar will compete from bawana seat (reserved for SC) while Rahul Dhanak has been nominated by Karol Bagh (reserved for SC).
The remaining three candidates are Sumesh Gupta for Rohini, Virender Bhiduri for Tughlakabad and Arjun Bhadana for Badarpur.
With these five nominations, the Congress has declared candidates for 68 of the 70 Delhi assembly seats.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Congress announced its third list comprising 16 candidates for the February 5 assembly elections in Delhi.
Recent member of Congress and former AAP MLA Dharam Pal Lakda received the ticket from Mundka, while former Union minister Krishna Tirath was nominated from Patel Nagar.
The party nominated Rajesh Gupta for Kirari, Kunwar Karan Singh for Model Town, Prem Sharma for Hari Nagar, Harbani Kaur for Janakpuri, Jitender Solanki for Vikaspuri, Sushma Yadav for Najafgarh, Mange Ram for Palam and Vishesh Tokas for RK Puram.
Additional nominations include Ariba Khan for Okhla, Rajiv Chaudhury for Vishwas Nagar, Kamal Arora for Gandhi Nagar, Jagat Singh for Shahdara and Bheesham Sharma for Ghonda.
For Gokalpur constituency, Congress has selected Ishwar Bagri, replacing Pramod Kr Jayant.
The Delhi assembly elections are scheduled to be held on February 5 and counting of votes will take place on February 8. The AAP has announced candidates for all 70 seats, while the BJP has declared 59 candidates.
