The high -level delegation in charge of presenting Pakistan’s position on the current dispute with India has scheduled to meet on June 2, PPP senator said Sherry Rehman on Wednesday.
Earlier this month, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif decided to send a diplomatic delegation to important world capitals after the recent military escalation with India. He entrusted the president of the PPP and the former Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari to direct the delegation.
The delegation includes Senator Rehman, former Foreign Minister, Hina Rabbani Khar, Dr. Musadik Malik, engineer Khurram Dastgir, Faisal Subzwari, Tehmina Janjua and Jalil Abbas Jilani.
Talk about Dawnnewstv ‘Doosra Rukh’ program, Senator Rehman said the diplomatic committee had decided to visit several countries before Eidul Azha.
“The committee, headed by Bilawal, will begin its tour of several countries on June 2, starting from New York,” he said.
He added: “The Committee will first go to New York, then to Washington, followed by London and then Brussels.”
Rehman also said that Bilawal had emphasized that there was no hurry since Pakistan “is not worried about the Indian delegation.”
“Bilawal has said that we have our own position and that we have enough content for our defense,” he said, adding that the president of the PPP wanted a “noun [and] quality meeting ”.
Speaking about the recent comments by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the Indo Water Treaty, saying “no politician, especially a prime minister, says things like that.”
He added that Modi wanted the region to remain in “crisis” to avoid space for negotiations.
In a separate interview with the Saudi television network Al-ArabiyaThe senator warned that stability in a volatile region is not possible with the rhetoric ladder of Modi.
“He is pushing the region towards an abnormal new and dangerous, which cannot be acceptable to anyone,” said Senator Rehman. “Nothing is normal or rational about this doctrinal change in Indian foreign policy.”
He stressed that India was also undermining more groundwater than any other country in the world, especially from the Indo River basin, while trying to cut what can be of the Pakistan water life line, stating that this is “totally unsustainable or acceptable in the world updated in the current climate.”
The developments follow a recent military confrontation between India and Pakistan for the accusations of New Delhi against the alleged participation of Islamabad in a deadly attack in the pahalgama of Cashmira busy, an accusation for which he did not provide evidence.
Nueva Delhi launched a series of air attacks in Pakistan, which resulted in casuals. Islamabad responded by demolishing five Indian planes. On May 10, the US intervention took in both parties to finally drop their weapons as the fire was reached.
