The defense presses if she knew that the men were “loaded”
Humphrey questions them how McLeod got to know and what he knew about him.
Humphrey: “Did you talk to an older man, Matt Maccarone, that night?”
EM: “Yes, he said McLeod was a great guy. I was trying to push me towards him.”
Humphrey: “Do you remember that Matt Maccarone had talked about hockey with Mr. McLeod or any other player in the ear?”
EM: “I don’t have a specific memory of that, no.”
Humphrey: “Do you remember that Matt Maccarone said Mr. McLod was an elite player who could play at the NHL one day?”
EM: “No. He said he is a good guy, take care of him. He seems that he was fine, that he [McLeod] I had a lot of money. ”
Humphrey: “Did Matt Maccarone told him that Mr. McLeod was loaded?”
EM: “Yes. I was trying to speak it and make me more interested in him.
Humphrey: “You are saying that you didn’t know that Mr. McLeod was an elite player, didn’t you know that his friends were probably directed or even signed with the NHL?”
EM: “No, I didn’t know until the next day, when my mother gathered it.”
Humphrey: “Part of what made Mr. McLeod attractive to you is that he was an elite hockey player and that he was loaded?”
EM: “I wouldn’t say that I thought too much of that. I wasn’t holding much of that night’s conversation. That didn’t affect me.”
