NEW DELHI: Jitendra Singh Union Minister On Sunday he condemned the murder of three young people in the Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir, calling him a “brutal” act of terrorists and suggesting a “deep conspiracy” behind the incident. The bodies of Varun Singh, 15, and their uncles, Yogesh Singh, 32, and Darshan Singh, 40, were discovered in the remote area of Malhar de Billawar Tehsil on Saturday, three days after they disappeared.
“The brutal murder of 3 young people for terrorists in the Bani area of the Kathua district is extremely sad, as well as a great concern. There seems to be a deep conspiracy behind spoiling the atmosphere in this peaceful area,” the minister wrote in a position in X.
“We have discussed this matter with worried officials. The Secretary of the Interior of the Union itself is arriving in Jammu so that the situation can be reviewed in the place. I am sure, it will ensure that such incidents do not happen again and the confidence of people remains strong,” he added more.
The murders have caused protests and a closure in the region, with demands of a high -level investigation. The Interior Secretary of the Union, Govind Mohan, is currently in JAMMU to evaluate the security situation. Officials have confirmed that a security review meeting is being held in response to the incident.
The vice minister of Jammu and Kashmira, Surinder Choudhary, expressed concern about the growing crime rate, while the independent MLA Rameshwar Singh faced a violent reaction when he visited the families afflicted in a local hospital in Billawar. A group of protesters said it, forcing their security personnel to intervene.
Singh, reacting to the incident, said: “I want to tell those who attacked me that I did not vicie the atmosphere. From the day (trio) they disappeared, I had been raising my voice and I was also in contact with the police.”
The MLA suggested that he was attacked because he had previously talked about the death of Makhan Din, a young Gujjar of 25 years of Billawar, who died for suicide last month after allegedly facing police torture about alleged terrorist links. “Talk for a Muslim a sin?
BJP’s local leader, Gopal Krishan, described the murders as “murders directed” by terrorists, with the aim of instilling fear in the peaceful area. “We want the government to intensify anti -terrorist operations in forests to neutralize those who hide there during the last year,” he said.
