Dan Campbell addresses his fifth year as coach in chief of the lions, and has revitalized a franchise that was in poor condition before arriving. But there are also questions about his team, which lost his offensive and defensive coordinators, had a series of defense injuries and has a difficult schedule with a preseason that begins early.
Campbell was asked about any restlessness that could be and dismissed the idea that he would be worried about anything.
“I am not worried that we are not hurried, I am not worried about having lost two coordinators, I am not worried about the injuries, I am not worried about the game of the Hall of Fame, I am not worried about the schedule,” Campbell said. “I think it’s perfect. I think it is aligned perfect. I think it will be the best for us with the place where we are going to enter 2025, my fifth year, the fifth year of the team.
During most of the last season, the Lions seemed the best NFL team, but they fell short in the postseason thanks in large part to a brutal list of defense injuries. Again, Campbell is not worried about that.
“There is no damn thing we can do with injuries. Nobody can,” said Campbell. “I am not worried, and the things you would worry about are the things that each team would worry, injuries. If we have another 20 injuries, yes, that is a problem, but there is nothing I can do about it.”
