In the midst of a series of terrorist attacks and Quadcopter, the police imposed on Friday a curfew of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, since a specific search and operation is ongoing next to the security forces in the Hoveed area.
In recent months, multiple areas of KP, including Bannu, Peshawar, Karak, Lakki Marwat and Bajaur, have seen a series of attacks, particularly attacked to police personnel in Bannu in July.
In a statement issued today, Bannu Police spokesman Khanzala Quraishi said: “This operation has been launched on the basis of intelligence reports, whose objective is to clean the area of terrorism and establish a lasting peace.”
The operation began at 5 am on Friday, according to Quraishi, and launched on the instructions of the Regional Police officer Sajad Khan under the supervision of the Police officer of the Salem Abbasi Kalachi district.
“During the operation, the security forces and the police personnel have completely surrounded the area and the houses from home to home are ongoing,” said the statement.
“In the case of any suspicious activity or resistance, immediate and effective measures are being taken so that terrorists have no opportunity to escape or hide.”
A touch of currency has been imposed in the area for the good of public safety, and citizens have been advised to cooperate with security agencies and remain inside.
“Immediately informs any person or suspicious activity to the relevant authorities,” said the statement.
“The authorities have warned that providing any type of installation or assistance to terrorists is a serious crime, and strict legal measures against such elements will be taken.”
Last week, a police officer was martyred in a terrorist attack at a control point in Bannu, where a fire exchange also left three dead terrorists and three injured police officers.
In July, the terrorists used a Quadcopter to attack a police station in Miryan, Bannu, which makes it the fifth attack of this type in the installation in a month.
