An Indian court imprisoned a 31 -year -old man on Monday after the rape and murder of an Irish young in the tourist state of Goa, almost eight years after the crime.
The victim, whose name cannot be revealed under Indian law, was 28 years old when she visited Goa in March 2017 and became a friend of Vikat Bhagat, the man convicted of the crime.
“Today the court has given the final verdict, life imprisonment to the defendant,” said investigating officer Filomeno Costa al ANI news agency, in which Reuters It has a minority stake.
