Cop martyred in Bannu checkpoint attack as retaliatory fire kills 3 militants – Pakistan

The funeral prayers took place on Sunday morning for a martyred police officer in a terrorist attack at a control point in the Bannu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where a fire exchange also left three dead terrorists and three injured police officers.

Bannu Regional Police officer (RPO) Sajad Khan said in a statement that three terrorists were killed and that police officer Rooh Niaz Khan was martyred when 40 to 50 terrorists attacked the police control post in Fateh Khel, Bannu.

Three terrorists died and, as many police officers were injured in the exchange of fire, which lasted more than an hour, the statement added.

“The terrorists had blocked the roads that led to the post, but the police officers reopened the roads and fought with the terrorists,” said Rpo Khan. “The police personnel bravely fought the terrorists, who used heavy weapons.”

He pointed out that the search operation of criminals was still underway.

While talking on the occasion, Dpo Kulachi said: “Martyrdized police officer Rooh Niaz Khan sacrificed his life while fighting against the anti -national elements, which shows that Bannu’s police are firm on each front.”

“We will never forget his sacrifice,” he said, adding that the courage, the sense of duty and sacrifice of the deceased are a lighthouse of light for everyone else.

Dpo Kulachi emphasized that Bannu Police was totally able to face terrorists on each front.

On Thursday, at least six police personnel members were injured in a Quadcopter attack against Miryan Police Station in Bannu in the middle of a continuous operation against terrorists in the Nura area, where the KP police had frustrated a terrorist attack offer earlier in the early week.

However, a police officer identified as Agent Hayatullah was martyred last month when terrorists attacked him in Bannu.

In early July, three terrorists were killed in an intelligence -based operation in Bannu, while another died in a meeting with the police in the Malakand district.
