Stefan Marquis announced on Tuesday X on Tuesday that he is no longer a candidate for the Canada Conservative Party in Laurier-Saine-Marie driving due to the recent publications he made on the Social Network Platform.
In the long publication, written in French and English, Marquis said that he was called Tuesday morning by one of Quebec’s operations managers for the party and said that “certain” people within the party found that recent publications were “sufficient reasons to end our political collaboration.”
The call lasted less than a minute, he said.
“Meanwhile, by its own will, the CPC decided to abruptly release a devout ally willing to operate in a notoriously complicated political landscape, recognized throughout the country as unjustly hostile to sound conservative opinions, the party in doing so, the basic principle of the first of our natural rights: that of Liberty,” he said.

The Marquis added the opinion must be respected both by the individual associated with the party and for the “thousands of citizens” whose voice represents.
“Publish a not vital tweet in X and wait for the ostracization of your natural ally,” he concluded. “This now seems to be the path of Canadian politics.”
In the comments section, he did not specify what positions he thinks he led to his removal, but said that the party had reviewed its X account before its nomination on March 27.
“All publications and responses since then are still visible in my profile, except for the nomination announcement,” Marquis said.
Publications on vaccination, Ukraine
The conservative party confirmed that Marquis is no longer a candidate, but spokeswoman Audrey Lepage refused to provide a reason, saying “we have nothing to add on this issue.”
Marquis has made several publications and comments related to conspiracy theories on topics such as COVID-19, Vaccines, the World Economic Forum and the invasion of Ukraine.
Marqués was not the only candidate who was retired on Tuesday. The conservative candidate in southwest Windsor Ontario, Tecumseh, Lakeshore no longer works in this federal electoral campaign on the previous comments.
Mark McKenzie is a councilor and former radio personality in Windsor. CTV News first reported development during the second week of the campaign.
The broadcaster said that a 2022 podcast recording was unearthed during which McKenzie expressed her support for public suspensions and joke suggested that Justin Trudeau, the prime minister at that time, should receive the death penalty.
The general elections of Canada are scheduled for April 28. Steven Guilbeault has represented Laurier-Sante-Marie for liberals since 2019.
