Complaint filed against Sonia, Rahul, and Priyanka Gandhi over remarks on President Murmu

New Delhi: A complaint has been filed against the leaders of Congress, Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, for the comments made about President Droupadi Murmu. The complaint, filed by the lawyer based in Muzaffarpur, Sudhir Ojha, accuses them of missing the greater constitutional authority of India and seeks legal actions under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The case will be heard in a Bihar court on February 10.
The controversy exploded after Sonia Gandhi’s comment after the president’s speech to Parliament before the budget session. Speaking to journalists, the former head of Congress commented: “The president was getting tired in the end … he could barely speak, poor.” Rahul Gandhi, in a separate clip, dismissed the speech as “boring”, while Priyank Gandhi Vadra was also present during the exchange.
The Rashtrapati Bhavan responded strongly, qualifying the comments of “unacceptable” and stating that Murmu was not tired. In an official statement, the president’s office said: “Some prominent leaders of the Congress party have made comments that clearly harm the dignity of the high position and, therefore, are unacceptable.” The statement also clarified that Murmu was completely composed throughout his speech and that speaking for marginalized communities “can never be exhausting.”
The comments caused an acute political reaction, with the BJP launching a total attack against Congress. Prime Minister Narendra Modi accused the “Shahi Parivar” of the party (royal family) to insult Murmu, a tribal leader. Speaking in a demonstration in Delhi, he said: “A member called his” boring “speech, and another went beyond, calling her” poor “and” tired. “This is an insult to 10 tribal crore and tribal sisters and every poor person who He has left the ground. ”
Several NDA ministers demanded an apology from Sonia Gandhi, with the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, leading the position. “Congress must apologize to the nation and the president for this insult,” Rijiju said.
The leaders of the Congress, however, defended Sonia Gandhi, claiming that the BJP was twisting their words to obtain political profits. The president of the party, Mallikarjun Kharge, responded by pointing out that the government had lacked respect for President Murmu by not inviting her to the inauguration of the new Parliament building and the RAM temple in Ayodhya. “The BJP had deliberately kept our current president and the previous president of these historical moments,” Kharge said.
Priyanka Gandhi also came to his mother’s defense, insisting that Sonia Gandhi had the “greatest respect” for Murmu and that his comments were being misrepresented. “My mother simply said that the president must have been tired after such a long speech. It is unfortunate that the media twisted their words, ”he said.
As the political storm is intensified, the decision of the Bihar Court on February 10 will determine the course of legal action against the leaders of Congress. Meanwhile, the controversy remains a focal point in the current campaign of the BJP against the opposition.
