Nueva Delhi: In an initiative to strengthen the adoption of renewable energy, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has signed a energy purchase agreement (PPA) with NTPC VIDYUT VYAPAR NIGAM LTD (NVVN) will install 3281 kW of solar power plants on the roof on 16 CISF campus in 11 states before October 31.
“The capacity of 3281 kW will be in addition to the 1990 KW of solar energy already installed on four CISF campus: RTC Arakkonam (Tamil Nadu), MAHIPALPUR CAMPUS (Delhi), RTC Behror (Rajasthan) and 8th RB Jaipur (Rajasthan). Once The new facilities are completed, the total solar energy capacity on all CISF campuses will reach 5271 KW impressive, “said the CISF official.
The Ministry of Interior Affairs (MHA) has commissioned NVVN to execute this project under the model of the Renewable Energy Services Company (Resco), which allows the installation, operation and maintenance of solar energy plants on the network in the roof in all central armed police forces (CAPFS) Campus. According to this model, NVVN will have capital spending, and the CISF will only pay the electricity generated in a fixed rate for the duration of the 25 -year agreement.
The new solar facilities will be extended in the following states: Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Tamil Nadu, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Bihar, Gujarat, Odisha and Telangana. Each location will play a key role to contribute to the sustainability objectives of the CISF and the broadest vision of the energy security of India and a greener future.
