Washington: Chinese leader Xi Jinping asked US President Donald Trump to avoid “unilateral commercial decisions” during a phone call on Friday that also included a discussion about Tiktok, state media in Beijing said.
“The American side should avoid taking commercial compensation measures that could undermine the results achieved through multiple rounds of consultations,” according to the reports, Xi told Trump in a call that the Chinese leader described as “positive and constructive.”
Meanwhile, the president of the United States praised what he called Progress with the Chinese President, even selling the Blockbuster Tiktok application and said he would visit Asian power, which offered a more cautious evaluation of his conversations.
The leaders of the two largest economies in the world spoke on the phone for the second time from the return to Trump’s White House, which has tried to maintain a lid in tensions despite their criticism once China once virulent.
Trump told journalists before the call that he expected an agreement to end up the Chinese Tiktok hands, enormously popular social networks among young Americans that the Republican tycoon has addressed himself to obtain support.
