The United States and China have reached a consensus on trade, according to representatives on both sides after a second day of high -level conversations in London, according to an NBC transcription.
“We have reached a framework to implement the Geneva consensus and the call between the two presidents,” said United States Secretary Howard Lutnick.
That echoed the comments on the Chinese side, shared through a translator.
Lutnick said he and the United States commercial representative Jamieson Greer, will return to Washington, DC, to “make sure President Trump approves” the frame. If Xi also approves, “we will implement the frame,” Lutnick said.
Previously, the United States Treasury Secretary Scott Besent told journalists that he was returning to the United States to testify to Congress on Wednesday.
