Child killed, parents injured as ambulance hits motorcycle in KP’s Haripur – Pakistan

A boy died while his parents were injured when a speed ambulance hit his motorcycle near Sikandar Pur in the city of Haripur by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday, police said.

The Local Police cited the injured Muhammad Yase in saying that he was traveling to Haripur with his wife, Samena Bibi and his six -month -old daughter, Fatima Bibi, by motorcycle.

“When we arrived near Sikandarpur on the busy road of Chappar, an imprudently driven ambulance hit us from behind,” said Yase in Cited by Hasan Khan, spokesman for the Haripur District Police officer. “Fatima died instantly, and we both suffered minor injuries.”

Hadi Khan, an ocular witness, told him Dawn.com“The girl died instantly after being crushed under the ambulance tires.”

The injured couple and the girl’s body were transported to the Haripur trauma center, where the parents received emergency treatment and then were discharged from the hospital, according to the spokesman.

It was the second road accident of a similar nature reported from Haripur.

“On Saturday night, a one -month -old boy also died and his parents were injured when his motorcycle crashed with a car in Khanpur Road,” said the spokesman.

Earlier this month, a policeman who escort a foreign delegation was killed, while another six, including a police deputy superintendent, was injured when a truck overturned near Chechiyan’s exchange on the Hazara highway, about four kilometers from the city of Haripur.

The incident, according to the police, occurred when the front tire of the escort truck exploded and the driver lost control, which makes it overturned.
