Chamber president, Customs men kidnapped in South Waziristan – Pakistan

South Waziristan: the president of the Waziristan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WCCI) and two customs officers were kidnapped in a high -profile kidnapping in South Waziristan on Thursday.

The president of the WCCI, Saifur Rehman, the Superintendent of Customs Nisar Abbasi and Inspector Khushal returned from the Customs Office at the Angoor Adda border crossing with Afghanistan when they were kidnapped, according to the attached commissioner Nasir Khan.

The kidnappers arrested their vehicle and force them to an unknown place.

The district administration and police have launched immediate investigation. However, a FIR has not yet registered.

The whereabouts of the three men was still unknown until the presentation of this report. The local business community has expressed a serious concern for kidnapping.

The Wana and the WCCI union have strongly sentenced the kidnapping. They demanded that the government and security agencies take immediate measures to recover the three men.

The merchants have also claimed that such incidents seriously affected the business environment and threatened to take to the streets in protest if the government did not improve the situation of the law and order.

The locals have urged security forces to take strict measures to avoid such incidents and restore the confidence of the business community and citizens.
