The Canadian retail giant Tire confirmed on Tuesday that it will reduce its roles of corporate personnel, since part of an impulse of transformation and modernization, according to the company, is necessary to remain competitive.
“Earlier this year, we announce that we would transform our company to better compete into a new era of retail, defined by global competitive threats and the growing need for speed and efficiency,” the company said in a statement.
“The changes are underway and we are altering several processes and equipment to transform and modernize.”
As part of these changes, “some corporate roles are expanding and others are being eliminated,” said the company, without declaring the number of people affected.
A spokesman confirmed that these changes will result in a general decrease in the number of corporate roles in the company.
These reductions do not imply roles in Canadian tire stores.
