The Canadian Canadian Canadian Katie Vincent established a world record in the female event C-1 500 meters on Sunday in the national tests in Montreal.
The 29 -year -old Olympic champion recorded a time of two minutes 0.609 seconds in the final in the Olympic basin, breaking the previous brand of 2: 00.73 established by Alena Nazdrova of Belarus in the 2019 World Championship in Szegg, Hungary.
2022 World Silver Medalist Sophia Jensen de Chelsea, which, ended a place behind Vincent in 2: 03.159.

Vincent, who comes from Mississauga, Ontario, became the first Canadian woman to capture the Olympic gold in the sport in Paris 2024 by winning the C-1 200m race, the only individual Canoa Individual Sprint event in the games. His winning time of 44.12 seconds is also a world record.
The two-time Olympic won bronze medals in Tokyo and Paris in the C-2 500m event, along with Laurence Vincent Lapointe and Sloan Mackenzie, respectively.
The World Cane Sprint 2025 World Championship will take place in Milan from August 20 to 24.
