The historical escalation of Victoria Mboko has reached new heights.
The teenage sensation will play in the final of the National Bank Open after achieving an epic return to defeat Elena Rybakina 1-6, 7-5, 7-6 (4) on Wednesday, the last chapter at a presentation party that has captivated fans throughout Canada.
Mboko fell to the ground after Rybakina’s shot sailed a lot at the point of the game when an exhausted electric crowd, bordered by “Allez Vicky” signs for the new Canada tennis star, exploded on the central court of the IGA stadium.
The 18 -year -old from Toronto, who was born in Charlotte, North Carolina, for Congolese parents, saved a party point before in the third set and broke the Rybakina service of the ninth seed twice to force the tiebreaker in the two -hour and 46 -minute match.
