The New Year’s Eve low in Vancouver is forecast to be 3°C and mostly cloudy, with a 25 per cent chance of rain.
Iqaluit expects a drastic change from Tuesday afternoon into the evening. A wind chill of around -26 C in the early afternoon will give way to -8 C later in the evening, ahead of a predicted high of 1 C for New Year’s Day.
In Yellowknife and Whitehorse, there will be a significant risk of frostbite. In Yellowknife, a wind chill of -25 C in the early afternoon will deteriorate to a wind chill of -30 C later in the evening, while Whitehorse will experience similar conditions, a wind chill of -17 in the afternoon and – 29 at night.
