‘Brutal, unconscionable, evil’: Condemnations pour in over Khuzdar blast targeting students – Pakistan

HRCP says that school orientation is a red line that should never be crossed; The United States embassy claims to stand with Pakistan to condemn the attack.

At least five people, including three children, were killed in an explosion aimed at a bus carrying students in the Khuzdar de Baluchistan district on Wednesday morning. Several children also suffered wounds.

According to local authorities, the bodies and wounded were transferred to the Khuzdar combined Military Hospital, from where those in critical would be referred to medical facilities in Quetta and Karachi. Preliminary findings indicated that the attack was a suicidal explosion.

In a statement, the military, while calling the incident “cowardly and horrible”, said it was planned and orchestrated by India, and executed by their representatives in Baluchistan. “After having failed miserably on the battlefield, through these more atrocious and cowardly acts, Indian representatives have unleashed to spread terror and disturbances in Baluchistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,” said public relations between services.

The attack caused a generalized conviction of all segments of society.

In a publication on X, the Pakistan Human Rights Commission condemned the attack. “The deliberate targeting of schoolchildren, non -combatant innocent in every way, is a red line that should never be crossed,” he said, added that the law violated the most basic principles of humanity and international humanitarian law.

“The continuous failure of federal and provincial governments to avoid such attacks highlights serious and persistent lapses to provide security to common citizens. The State has the obligation to defend the law and order in strengthening civil institutions and the rule of law, not through indiscriminate kinetic responses,” said the commission.

In addition, he requested the immediate identification and prosecution of the perpetrators and their enabling through legal means. “We also emphasize the urgent need for a significant political dialogue to address deeply entrenched problems of representation, governance and distribution of resources in Baluchistan,” HRCP added.

The president of PPP, Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, described the attack “a despicable and inhuman act, under all moral and human values.”

“This cowardice against our children is an attack on Pakistan’s soul. Innocent lives, full of dreams, extinguished in an instant. We share the pain of the afflicted families,” he wrote in X, promising that Pakistan would bring all those responsible for light and justice.

The National Children’s Rights Commission also condemned the attack. “Draining innocent children who seek knowledge is an absolutely unacceptable, inhuman and barbarian act.”

He asked the Government, particularly to the provincial authorities, to carry out immediate, transparent and exhaustive investigation into the incident, together with the introduction of rapid protection measures for schoolchildren, especially in vulnerable districts.

UNICEF also issued a statement, extending condolences to families, added that it would be solid with all those affected.

Unesco’s general deputy director of Education, Stefania Giannini, said the organization was horrified by the horrible attack.

“UNESCO condemns all attacks against operational educational facilities, educational staff, students and students. Going to school should never endanger any child. However, it is still the case today, in too many places in the world. This must end.”

On the other hand, the United States embassy in Islamabad said it was with Pakistan to condemn the “brutal” and “inconceivable” attack.

“The murder of innocent children is beyond understanding. We afflicted ourselves with families who lost loved ones, and our thoughts are with those who recover. No child should fear going to school. We are with those in Pakistan who work to put an end to this violence,” he said.

The Chinese embassy said it was sad to listen to the attack. “China firmly opposes all forms of terrorism. We firmly condemn this terrorist attack, we extend our deep condolences to the victims and sympathize sincere to the afflicted families, and we wish the injured an early recovery,” he added.

Iran’s ambassador to Pakistan Reza Amiri Moghadam also condemned the attack and extended his condolences.

Afghanistan sentenced an attack on a school bus in Khuzdar, Baluchistan on Wednesday.

“We firmly condemn the attack on a school bus in the Khuzdar area of ​​Baluchistan, Pakistan, which resulted in the deaths and injuries of many children. Attacks against children and civilians are never justified,” said Afghan government spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid in X.

Former Senator Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar said that today’s terrorist attack was “simply evil and cowardly,” and added that who was behind him did not deserve mercy.

Meanwhile, the leader of PML-N, Ahsan Iqbal, said he was sad and outraged by the horrible attack. “This act of violence is unacceptable and will not be tolerated,” he wrote in X, and added that the Government would ensure that all those responsible were taken before justice.

Separately, the leader of the PPP, Sherry Rehman, extended sincere condolences to afflicted families. “We need to know who was behind this horrible carnage … The perpetrators of this terrorist attack must be investigated, exposed and brought to Swift Justice,” he said.

The former Human Rights Minister Shireen Mazari also declared that addressing children was an act of despicable and cowardly terrorism. “No amount of condemnation may be enough.”
