‘Brutal assault on democracy’: VP Dhankhar calls for exposing those who accepted ‘invasion’ amid USAID funding row | India News

Nueva Delhi: Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar has strongly condemned an alleged foreign interference in the electoral process of India, qualifying him as a “brutal assault on democracy” and urging an exhaustive investigation to expose those involved. Speaking at the global conference of meditation leaders at Bharat Mandapam, Dhankhar referred to recent revelations of the president of the United States, Donald Trump, on the allocation of USAID funds.
In expressing his shock, Dhankhar said: “Recently, the revelation that occurred, I was surprised to see it. What has been revealed by the president of the United States with full responsibility is that the democratic process of this country was sought to be modulated and manipulated.

Although he did not appoint specific entities, Dhankhar stressed the need to track the origins of the financing and hold those responsible. “I am sure that a person with authority emanates. One thing is correct, because that is real. The amount was given and it is not a small amount. We should adopt the teachings of Chanakya, go to their roots. It must be destroyed. The root, “he said.
When qualifying it as a national duty, the vice president said that India must retaliate against such forces and make sure they are exposed. “We must find out who those people who accept such an invasion are. The brutal assault on our democratic values. It is our national duty to take reprisals against those forces. We must expose them, because only then India will rise to the clamp that we imagine, and that it is no longer A dream but our goal, a developed India, “he said.
The comments come in the midst of a growing controversy over the alleged external attempts to influence the electoral process of India through USAID financing.
