Sao Paulo – The former Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro was transferred on Saturday by medical planes from the Northeast of Brazil to the Brasilia capital after being hospitalized with abdominal pain a day before.
Bolsonaro was hospitalized on Friday morning while traveling in the Northeast of Brazil. The pain was caused by an intestinal obstruction and was related to the long -term effects of being stabbed in the abdomen in September 2018, their doctors said.
Bolsonaro has been inside and outside hospitals since the attack in a campaign event before the presidential elections of Brazil in 2018. The conservative leader underwent several surgeries during his presidency of 2019-2022.
“After so many similar episodes in recent years, I had become accustomed to pain and discomfort. But this time, even doctors were surprised,” he said in a publication on social networks on Saturday, he added that a doctor for a long time told him that it was “the most serious case from the attack.”
Bolsonaro also said that he would probably undergo another surgery. Earlier on Saturday, doctors from the Rio Grande hospital in the northeastern state of Rio Grande do Norte told journalists who was stable and did not need emergency surgery, he said that additional procedures would depend on their recovery.
The doctors also that his family requested the transfer to Brasilia and that it would happen on Saturday afternoon.

Bolsonaro began a trip throughout the region to promote the right -wing agenda of his party, observing next year’s presidential elections, although he himself is prohibited from running.
A panel of judges forbade Bolsonaro to run again until 2030 after a panel of judges concluded that he abused his power and threw unfounded doubts about the country’s electronic voting system. The alleged attempted Bolsonaro included plans to poison and kill his political rival, President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, prosecutors said.
