Michael Bracewell Capitán in New Zealand for the first time in their homeland when they meet Pakistan in a T20 series of five games, leading a team appointed Tuesday, which lost several key players due to the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Bracewell starred when the Black Caps reached the final of the Champions Trophy and is one of the seven players of that one -day team selected for the T20.
But a large number of main names are not available due to IPL commitments, including regular captain Mitchell Santner, along with Devon Conway, Lockie Ferguson and Glenn Phillips.
Kane Williamson was also not available for the series, which begins Sunday in Christchurch.
“It is a great honor and a real privilege to captain his country,” said Brawell, who directed the team on his white ball tour of Pakistan last year, but has not yet taken the reins at home.
“Mitch Santner has done a great job since he assumed the position of Captain of the White Ball and I will really just try to build on his good job and create a pleasant environment for the boys to work.
“Pakistan is always a dangerous side shortly with a lot of power and rhythm and we know they will hurt after an early exit in the Champions Trophy,” he added.
Spinner Ish Sodhi was removed from the market while the pacemaker Ben Sears returned after recovering from a torn hamstring.
Finn Allen, Jimmy Neesham and Tim Seifert were also included when both teams begin to be built at the next year T20 World Cup in India.
New Zealand went to India for four WICKETS in the Champions League trophy final in Dubai on Sunday, suffering a fourth defeat in four global final format finals in the last decade.
“” I guess it’s bittersweet, “Santner told journalists after the final.
“You always want to win one of these, and I don’t know how many more opportunities we will have, but this was up there for us.
“I think we were playing a good Crick that leads to this, and we thought we were a real snack today, but I guess a good team hit us,” the employer acknowledged.
