Bodies of 2 J&K brothers found a month after they went missing


Srinagar: The decomposed bodies of two Kashmir brothers Reported as missing since February 13, together with a third person, they met three days apart in a river in the J & K Kulgam district, about 70 km south of Srinagar.
Showkat Bajad’s Putrefed body was discovered on Sunday in Vishaw, near where his brother Riyaz had been found on March 13, police said.
There is still no trace of Mukhtar Ahmad Awan of the Village of Partapora, a relative of the brothers who had accompanied them to a wedding in the Mir Bazar area of ​​the same district the day that the three disappeared. The trio worked in a brick oven.
The researchers said the brothers may have died for suicide, based on the conclusion of the forensic expert, Dr. Azia Manzoor Bhat, that Riyaz’s body indicated that he was drowning. Bhat told journalists in Kulgam that the case “does not seem of a homicidal nature.”
The PDP member, Talib Hussain, who was in the place when Showkat’s body was found, accused the police of the bastons loading when they questioned how the investigators reached suicide as the cause of death.
“How did they drown in a river when the water level was so low?” Hussain said. “We demand a judicial investigation into the case.”
The tribal villagers took Showkat’s body to the road and organized a demonstration.
DIG (South Kashmira) Javid Iqbal Matoo said he would investigate the accusations of police harassment, but insisted that there were no signs of dirty play in deaths. “There are no signs of torture in the bodies. Researchers are analyzing all possibilities.”
The NDRF and SDRF teams are touring the area for the third person missing.
