The National Baluchistan-Mengal Party (BNP-M) announced Sunday night that the police used tear gas and bombing to disperse protesters during their sitting, according to a publication on social networks.
The BNP-M had begun a “long march” of Wadh to Quetta on March 28 to protest the arrests of the leaders and activists of the Balochjehti (Byc) committee, including Dr. Mahrang Baloch and Sammi Deen Baloch, as well as an offensive in his sitting in Quetta. Sammi was released on Tuesday.
“A full strike of Jam-Jam is being carried out on the Kechi Beg, Sariab, Faizabad and Shahwani roads against the blocking of the long march of the National Baluchistan Party,” the match wrote in X.
“The police used tear gas and bombing in the bearers and workers of the BNP district office,” the party added. “On the other hand, the authorities are attacking houses in Sariab, violating the holiness of their homes.
Earlier on Sunday, the Baluchistan government warned Sardar Akhtar Mengal, head of his BNP-M faction, which would be arrested under the maintenance of public order (MPO) if the march of his party against the imprisonment of Baloch’s activists would enter Quetta.
The Sitting of the BNP-M in the Mastung area of Lakpass today entered its tenth day. The party goes to Quetta while a dead point persisted on its demands, including Mahrang’s release, while the Baluchistan government warned that it would limit the march to the Quetta Sariab road.
However, that offer seemed not to be on the table, since Baluchistan government spokesman Shahid Rind, said today that Mengal would be arrested if “moves towards Quetta.”
Responding to a position on X of Mengal, who said that his party was “completely surrounded by security forces” in Lakpass, Rind said that BNP-M president had been alerted at 6 am on the orders to arrest him under the MPO.
The orders of MPO are generally issued to maintain public order and cite a “threat to public security” along with a possible “violation of peace and tranquility.”
Rind wrote: “Mengal refused to give his arrest. The administration and the police have clearly told him that if he moves towards Quetta, he will be arrested, and that is why the agencies of application of the law (read) are present there.
“BNP calls to block national roads at this time add to the difficulties that citizens face. The administrations of all districts have received instructions that national roads do not close.”
The government spokesman, without specifying the other party, joked: “There is a common thing in the 2018 beneficiary groups [elections]: elaborate a narrative, so both are doing the same. “
The provincial government has blocked the roads by placing containers around the protest site in Lakpass. He has also suspended the Internet services in Quetta, Mastung, Kalat and Khuzdar.
After the RIND statement, the BNP-M cited dimal saying: “The State has decided to crush us, but we will not bow. This sitting will continue under all the circumstances and now we will make the entire Baluchistan the center of resistance.”
In another publication, the BNP-M shared a video, claiming that Leas had begun to bombard Quetta’s Khan Chowk meeting to welcome the march. White vapors could be seen in the distance in the alleged video.
Mengal, in a publication on X earlier in the morning, which RINE had responded directly, said: “We are currently parked in Lakpass, completely surrounded by security forces. An important operation against us is imminent.
“I call all the districts that immediately close all national roads in protest. Let the world witness this injustice. We remain peaceful, but resolved.
“Whatever develops today (the consequences, blood, the consequences, will be based solely on the shoulders of the government and the local administration,” Mengal added.
A publication on X of the BNP-M shortly after they also said that the security forces had surrounded the people in the sitting, and added that it was “deeply worried” about the situation in Lakpass.
“This is an open aggression that will not be tolerated under any circumstance. BNP announces that all national roads must be closed immediately in protest.”
The veteran politician Afrasiab Khattak asked in a publication about X: “Why have the security forces surrounded the peaceful protesters of Baloch and do not let them go to Quetta?
“In fact, the entire Baluchistan is surrounded. They insist on demonstrating the fact that Pakistan is an open prison for all oppressed people?” Added.
BNP-M ask for strike throughout the province
Meanwhile, the BNP-M asked for obstacles and a closing blow through Baluchistan tomorrow against the obstructions placed for its march to Quetta.
Former BNP-M senator, Saraullah Baloch, said Dawn.com The party has asked for “Baluchistan obstacles and strike against government brutalities, shots and bombings against unarmed protesters.”
Going to a press conference in Quetta, attended by leaders of the National Party Awami (ANP) and the Jamhoori Watan (JWP) party-the senior vice president of BNP-M, Sajid Tareen, also reiterated the strike call.
Tareen said the action plan for “new protests” would also be announced tomorrow after consulting with other political parties.
“The rulers want to put people on the path of hatred under a conspiracy,” Tareen claimed, saying that the police, the border body and the security forces have been deployed to prevent the protesters from entering Quetta.
Insisting that “not a single pot” broke to the extent that the sitting remained peaceful, the BNP-M leader condemned the “use of force against democratic action.”
Tareen also expressed apprehension that he can be arrested: “I have reports that I can be arrested. I am in Quetta, but we will continue to raise our voices against oppression.”
After the call, BNP-M workers led by Mir Ghulam Rasool Mengal blocked a road near the eastern bypass in the Baloch de Quetta neighborhood.
Similarly, the route to the city of Sariab of the city was blocked by supporters of the match in Kechi Baig Road to burn tires.
‘Red zone outside the limits’
According to Mengal, the two previous rounds of negotiations were not successful since the Government delegations did not enjoy any authority to make decisions about the demands presented by the BNP during the conversations.
A day before, Baluchistan government spokesman Shahid Rind offered BNP-M to march to the Quetta stadium in Sariab Road and warned the action party if the city’s red zone is violated.
When heading to a press conference, RIND denied the meeting of any government official with Mahrang in the district jail on Friday night.
He said that BNP leadership had been offered an alternative place in Sariab during the negotiations, but did not accept the government’s offer and insisted that they would organize their sitting in the red zone despite section 144.
Rind, while referring to conversations with the BNP, said that two rounds of negotiations with the BNP leaders had been held, with contributions from BNP-Awami, the National Party and Jamiat Ulema-Islam, but all in vain.
In addition, he said that Mengal will not be allowed to enter the Red Zone, the Baluchistan Assembly or the premises of the Superior Court of Baluchistan.
Meanwhile, BNP responded strongly to the government’s position. “Here, the laws are elaborated to adapt to the whims and interests of the ruling elite. Such bravuconería is not new: dictators such as Musharraf also made similar threats, which were ignored at that time and will be ignored now,” said the statement.
