NEW DELHI: The BJP on Tuesday cited CM Atishi’s parents’ support for the campaign for clemency for Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru to allege that the Aam Aadmi Party had links with NGO who supported a terrorist who was sentenced to death by the Supreme Court for planning the attack, which almost sparked a war with Pakistan.
Speaking to reporters after Delhi Police claimed that hundreds of calls in recent months threatening terror attacks on schools were made by a 17-year-old boy whose father had signed the petition seeking clemency for BJP spokesperson Guru , Sudhanshu Trivedi, said Kejriwal owed people an answer for his background. Trivedi described the police findings as sensitive and serious and stated that the investigation revealed that the student’s parents were associated with NGOs involved in activities considered contrary to national security.
he said AAP had expressed support to those who raised “tukde tukde” slogans at JNU in 2015, wishing for the dismemberment of India and vowing revenge for Guru’s death, while the Kejriwal government had deliberated on the Delhi Police’s request for sanction for the prosecution of the “tukde tukde” gang for years before giving in to popular pressure.
“We all know that the AAP has deep ties with the NGOs that opposed the hanging of Afzal Guru. In February 2015, ‘tukde tukde’ slogans were raised on the death anniversary of Afzal Guru, and the AAP kept the file closed for months. Who are the people behind these? Are the NGOs related to the AAP? Both parents of Delhi CM Atishi supported the petition for clemency for Guru. direct connection between these events. Is AAP involved in this?” asked Trivedi, accompanied by Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva. Atishi’s parents, Vijay Singh and Tripta Wahi, were among several activists and teachers who signed a mercy petition for Guru in 2013.

“I request Arvind Kejriwal to come forward and clarify AAP’s relationship with these individuals. If youth are doing this, what kind of poison are these NGOs injecting into the minds of children of our country? We want a clear answer of the AAP. If they don’t, “Not providing one only deepens the doubt,” Trivedi said.
“Kejriwal talks nonsense and makes false statements. I want to ask clearly whether the AAP will clarify its links with these horrible and dangerous revelations because there seems to be a direct ideological similarity with you in this case,” he added. Sachdeva said the investigation would eventually reveal links between the NGO AAP and its leaders. “It is not a coincidence. Those emails were sent to 400 schools under a well-thought-out conspiracy to create an atmosphere of fear in Delhi because they had to win the elections,” he said.
“Arvind Kejriwal is not only an enemy of Delhi but also of the country. Let Delhi be free from this ‘aapda’ (disaster) because they (AAP) have destroyed Delhi,” he added.
